Here are some of the weirdest stats this year.
- The Marlins are 16-4 when Josh Johnson starts since his 2008 debut. If they keep it up, the Marlins should have a record of around 30-4 when he starts in 2009. Johnson does have a big impact to this team though. He is Johan Santana like with all the wins he gets and his low ERA.
- Cliff Lee is almost doubled in the loss column and his ERA is about 1.40 higher than last year. He isn’t that bad but he should have a year a lot worse than last. His ERA is almost 4.00 but it is a little less, this should be around where it is all year. Lee isn’t a below average player but he isn’t an ace.
- David Ortiz’s slugging percentage this year is lower than his on base percentage, which is the last thing a power hitter wants to hear a month into thehseason. I still don’t think he is done though, he has lots of power and is clutch, some players get into big slumps and I think that is Ortiz’s case.
