Borbon playing time

September 28, 2009

I think the Rangers should start Julio Borbon everyday in the outfield, he will be a better player and give you some more production.  I also think if he played everyday the Rangers would better.  Borbon will be better than most people think he will and I think he can start producing today and get better.  He should average a hit a day by next year.  I think Borbon will have the strength to be a big player who is a very tough out.  I think putting him in the outfield everyday will have a big impact on the whole team.  It would be better to have Marlon Byrd hitting.  I think it is bad that they aren’t starting him now.  I think one day he won’t have big struggles versus lefties.  Borbon will do many things and should be the guy the Rangers need to keep going.

Tigers versus Twins and strategies

September 27, 2009

I think the Tigers will take 3 out of 4 against the Twins.  I also think the Tigers will put on their best game versus the Twins.  The worst they will do is when Brian Duensing.  I think Jim Leyland should ride the hot wire .  Ryan Raburn should start and Clete Thomas shouldn’t.  I also think they should keep Magglio in at right field and put him in the power hole.  I think the Tigers should hit a lot of homers in this series.  Their pitching should be good too, every start except the one Nate is pitching, he shouldn’t be a starter and he won’t do good against teams like the Twins.  If the Tigers do make the playoffs they will need Jarrod Washburn back.  I think the Twins will play their normal brand of baseball but the Tigers will just out play them.  I think this will be the best series they play all year.  They can overcome their struggles against the Twins.

Will Jason Giambi have a late career surge?

September 26, 2009

No, not so much.  I think he could still be a productive everyday player but he will only be half the player he used to be and he will have to playing the NL at a hitter’s park.  He won’t be a team leader in any category either, he will just be a good everyday starter.  I think he could make for a good pinch hitter in Colorado if he stays.  I think he will be a lot better and the team will be too.  Giambi isn’t going to have as much power but that will still be his strength.  Giambi will still hit those big homers too so pitchers should still be carefull with him.  I think he wills till be good for two more years.  He won’t hit 300. either but late he should come through.  I think his 2010 season could be better than his 2009.

Eddie Bonine starts

September 25, 2009

Eddie Bonine will not always be as good as he was today, he will be sometimes but he will be a barely above average to barely below average guy who doesn’t do anything special but is an okay starter.  I don’t think he will get enough run support in Detroit and I don’t think he will be that good here.  Bonine should have a great game every year.  He won’t do that well versus good teams but he should get a win very once and awhile.  I don’t think he will be a very successful big leaguer but he could be a good sixth starter for the Tigers for a while.  I don’t think he will do really good for them in this stretch run.  Bonine won’t be a game seven guy or a guy with amazing stats.  I think he should get a few quality innings in and give up an average amount of runs.  He will need to work on a few things in order to get good.

Hafner: More bad to come

September 24, 2009

Travis Hafner will not do a lot of stuff well ever again, I don’t even think he will be able to hit a lot of homers next year.Hafner won’t be a good DH and shouldn’t be a starter next year.  It won’t matter what situation he’s in, he won’t come through.  Hafner will get worse and worse every year.  Hafner worse thing will be hits he won’t get many.  Hafner will do bad versus the AL Centeral too.  Hafner won’t ever be able to play defense either.  A fresh start somewhere wouldn’t be the awenser.  I think he was a three year wonder.  The thing he will do is hit grand slams.  Hafner’s production should see a big decline next year.

Can Guillen return to form?

September 23, 2009

I think he can.  He could still be a great player and I think he could reach his peak in power.  Guillen will be the same no matter where he plays.  I think his numbers and himself could improve next year but not by much.  I think he will still be all-star caliber too.  He will be better lefty his whole career too, by a lot.  Guillen should do good no matter what condition too.  Not much will change from the old Guillen and I think he’s still in his prime all-around.  Guillen should have tons of good games and not so many bad ones.  His fielding will be a lot worse but not way below average.  He will still be a big left-handed bat that needs to feared and I think won’t be and he will take advantage of that.  He can have a lot of amazing games too.

ONE YEAR:  I year ago today I started this blog, I love it and think it was one of the best decision I’ve ever made.  I would to thank all my readers and appreciate their time.  I will continue to bring my analysis and everything else and I hope you enjoy it!

Chad Durbin: Spot Starts

September 21, 2009

Chad Durbin will be a better reliever than starter in the long run but his spot starts will be great.  His lines will be great.  He won’t be Roger Clemens like but he should make a spot start with ease.  He’s the perfect solution to a starting pitching injury.  If Durbin would start regularly he wouldn’t have anything good on his resume.  He’s the guy to turn to in the sixth inning too.  He won’t ever be worth a lot though and he isn’t going to have good ERA.  He will just make decent starts every time with so-so stats.  He won’t improve and might get a little worse in the next few years but I think he would do well in 2010 or 2011.  Philly isn’t the best place for him but he shouldn’t be effected much.  Durbin night need to fix a few things too, but I think he can do it decent and still be good.

Matt Holliday 2010 season

September 20, 2009

Matt Holliday might be better than Albert Pujols next year.  I think he will have a career year now that he can get off to a good start.  Albert should be better next year to thanks to Holliday.  His stolen bases should go up and he should hit for a good average.  He will do everything great and won’t do many things that are bad.  Holliday’s production should go up a bit too.  I think he will be able to crush any pitcher and go deep in any at-bat next year.  He will be the second most dangerous hitter in the NL.  He will do everything a team needs and will help this team win many games.  Next year he should hit the 200 hit plateau again.  I think his swing will get him to good places too, it came around again.  Holliday should have a monstrous 2010 where nothing goes wrong.

Tigers struggles

September 19, 2009

The Tigers might struggle a little bit but I think they can pull out of it and win the division.  I think they can win more than half of their games left against the Twins a nd White Sox.  The Tigers have a better team than the Twins too.  I think they shouldn’t lose more than six more games the rest of the year.  If they make the playoffs they should heat up and get on a roll.  I think they could break ot of this slump tomorrow and if they don’t they will the next day.  I think Alex Avila will have a very big game the next time he plays and it should help them win.  The Tigers will win the rest of their series.  They have the team to win games late in the year and they will.

Jeff Kunkel should be good

September 18, 2009

Jeff Kunkel won’t be more than an average catcher but he should play some good major league games.  He’s great behind the plate and at it he’s average but could knock an extra base hit a lot.  His best contributions will be great plays he makes.  His offense shouldn’t change much but it should be Mendoza line production.  Kunkel will barely bring below average production for a catcher.  Kunkel will be better in the majors than Brennan Boesch.  Kunkel is the best catcher in the Tigers minors but John Murrian will pass him soon.  He won’t be even a back-up in the majors but I think he could make a few contributions to the Tigers pretty soon.  He won’t ever hit well or high in the line-up.  He will be an okay player throughout his whole prime.
