How Does Ichiro Rank Among All-Time Hitters?: I don’t think he’s the best as far as all-around Barry Bonds and Albert Pujols are better he and guys from the past like Ted Williams, Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Pete Rose, Joe DiMaggio and Honus Wagner are better. Ichiro is the best singles hitter of all time though and he will likely keep that distinction for some time. Ichiro will also add big time to his stats over the next few years. He might even get his rank higher. You should probably just give him the crown of best hitter in the last thirty years as far as just hits.
Better Hitter: Ted Williams or Babe Ruth?
I think the Babe was better at a lot and is close in average with Williams but Williams was more consistent. Babe was a better player but a Ted was a better hitter, he knew how to do everything right and he did everything really great. Babe was a great hitter too and just missed being better but he’s better at a lot of other things and had many great tools.
