Yankees might lose first

August 31, 2010

It will be mainly the pitching, but they will go through a slump and I think Tampa will heat up a bit too.  CC and Dustin Moseley.  Rivera will be the only bullpen ace too.  The Yankees will just have the toughest time of the year and then heat back up when they get to the playoffs.  Their whole offense should keep them around .500 this month though, Granderson will stay hot and Teixeria will keep all the pop in his bat.  The Yankees should struggle in most big games, especially against the Rays.  They should win a few games versus the Red Sox and Rangers though.  When the pitching is there they will win big and when it’s not they should lose close games.  The whole team will still surge after September and the Yankees should have no major problems.  If they lose first place they will have a better ALDS.  The Yankees still have a great chance to win it all and they are a huge powerhouse.

White Sox get Manny

August 29, 2010

This will help them a lot and Manny will get really hot and be there best offensive player for the rest of the year but the Sox should still not win the rotation.  Ramirez’s power is the big thing that will pickup.  The Dodgers will only lose talent but they are getting younger and losing Manny is okay.  If the Sox re-sign him he will give them one or two more good years.  This season Manny shouldn’t get cold at any time though and carry them to a winning record in September.  Manny will not have a lot of production outside of homers and RBIs.  he should even hit .300.  His impact should be big though and he will play a lot better than Mark Kotsay would have.  If Manny ever plays in the field it will be a disaster.  Ramirez should be good in the clutch too and him and Konerko should be one of the best three-four hitters the rest of the year.  This will be great for the White Sox.

Tigers Future: Wells, Rhymes

August 28, 2010
  • I think Casper Wells will be a clutch fourth outfielder for the Tigers in the future.  He will always have good tools and he should always do good for the Tigers.  Next year he might not play a lot for the Tigers but when he does he will do good.  In 2012 I think he will start being  good.  For the rest of the year he should be on and off and be a decent pinch hitter.  His defense will be really strong but he will always hover around .300 and be a good Tiger.  Rating: 6.1
  • Will Rhymes will be a really good and exciting player right away, his average should keep rising and he should keep getting valuable hits.  He is going to be a great, steady starter and will be a great Placido Polanco type replacement for the Tigers.  He is going to have a great career.  he won’t have power but will play a good game all around and hit .300 every year.  His defense will be nice too.  Rhymes is going to be really good for the Tigers these next few years.  Rating: 7.2
  • Rhymes has a strong future and will have a big impact and Wells could have a decent impact on the Tigers.

Cahill: Cy Young soon?

August 26, 2010

Cahill will always be good and keep a low ERA but I think he is not even going to be the ace of the A’s.  Brett Anderson will find his stuff next year and take that role but Cahill will improve a bit next year in some areas and contend.  The only reason he’s not a contender this year is because he just hasn’t done everything good and he might ware out soon.  Cahill won’t be super elite ever either.  He probably won’t have  a season this good really soon but he has a promising future with all his stuff and he will be good for the A’s for the next few years and then step up his performance and then keep getting better.  Cahill will hit his prime soon too and those will be some really good years for him.  He will always have a problem or two but he’s going to be a Cy contender most of the time, he’s just not deserving yet and he won’t be for a while.

Analysis from Tigers vs. Royals 8-25-10

August 25, 2010
  • Will Rhymes is going to stay in Detroit and hit really good here for a long time
  • Alfredo Figaro can give the Tigers some good outings here and there but he has no future as a good pitcher, especially in the bullpen
  • Kila Ka’aihue is going to hit for 30 homers sometime soon if he gets a chance, but he may not be that good
  • The Tigers can get hot late.  They won’t contend but they a really beat teams as good as they did in the first half.  This team has a lot of holes though and that will hurt them.  They should execute most opportunities the rest of the year hitting.
  • The Royals are going to fall to last pretty quickly
  • Sean O’Sullivan has a bright future and will be a decent pitcher for the Royals this year and next year
  • Galarrraga needs to only pitch six innings and he will have some very good stretches no matter what

Vazquez to bullpen

August 24, 2010

I don’t think Javier Vazquez .  He will have some good outings but he should be a good pitcher starting if he gets another chance.  He will be okay in the later innings but he has no experience out of the bullpen and he just won’t do that good.  All his struggles will continue and he will never be consistent.  Vazquez shouldn’t come out of the pen in the bullpen in the playoffs.  He should get a lot of walks and won’t be too good with the stats.  Vazquez will be a successful starter again, just not with the Yankees.  They shouldn’t get to Vazquez out of the bullpen a lot either and he should get some spot starts and he should make the most out of them.  He doesn’t have any major problems or flaws, he’s just having a bad season and it should get better soon.  Fork know he’s just too risky in any role though.

Tigers need to keep Damon

August 23, 2010

He is going to be key to next years team.  If they keep him they will compete.  He will continue to decline but he is going to be the Tigers second best tablesetter next year.  Even if they hit him fifth he will still be very important and will do very good.  His power will keep declining big too but he should be veteran and clutch and the Tigers will need that a lot.  Damon won’t help a team going to the playoffs that much anyway.  He is going to do big things for the Tigers over his contact and if they get rid of him they might lose a lot for next year.  He should be used only as a DH at this point though, it won’t hurt him or his team because his hitting will always be strong.  Damon is going a bit better next year if he stays, he will decline in some areas but he has another good season in him and he will great for the Tigers.

Can Galarraga be reliable?

August 20, 2010

I would give him another chance just to make sure but I don’t think he will be.  I think the Tigers should pitch him through the year and if he does good keep him and if he does bad go after a free agent or give Casey Crosby or Andy Oliver a chance.  Galarraga will have his good games but he will have more bad games and sometimes get blown away.  He will keep them in the game most of the time but he just won’t be that great.  Galarraga is only going to be a five guy at best.  His struggles should continue for the rest of the year with a few good starts he and there.  Galarraga isn’t bad but i just don’t think he will work out good again with the Tigers.  He will always get wins with them but not always pitch good.  I think 2008 will be the best year he ever has and after this year he might get worse.  Galarraga might do good and if he does just keep him around.  REST OF YEAR PREDICTION: 6 GS 2-2 W-L 25 K 4.32 ERA

Daniel Schlereth: Up and coming

August 19, 2010

Daniel Schlereth is going to be really good this time up.  He won’t always be lights out but someday soon he will start being a good reliever and someday a decent closer.  Schlereth will always do decent out of the bullpen.  He will do his best down the stretch this year and will really establish himself.  When he gets his chance to close he will make the most of it and always hold down the job.  He’s going to be overpowering all the time and won’t be elite or tough to figure out but successful.  Schlereth is going to do great with the Tigers and will be a big part of their bullpen next year.  He can do any position needed for the rest of the year in the pen and do it really well.  Schlereth  will be big with holds until he gets his chance but he should have a higher ERA and WHIP as a non-closer.  He will be a lot better when he closes.  He’s just going to be a decent closer for a long time.

Dan Hudson: Peak will be high

August 17, 2010

Dan Hudson is going to do a great job the rest of this year and that will carry into next year.  He might be next ears surprise sub 3.00 ERA pitcher.  He will strike out a ton, but his walks might be higher at times but he should make himself into a good pitcher.  He will benefit by pitching in Arizona too and his splits might have a big difference.  He should still always get hitters out and have a good delivery.  He might fall into a slump here and there and he won’t be an ace but he will always be a good pitcher for Arizona.  He’s going to pitch like an ace in many stretch including the one he’s in now.  Hudson won’t just lose control out of nowhere either, he will have all the tools with overpowering stuff and he will always be successful, especially in the upcoming years and he will pitch really good every game.
