NOTES

  • Gerrit Cole, Anthony Rendon and Trevor Bauer are the only one I would consider at number one
  • I don’t think the Rays will blow it if they go for the best arms and the best at each other position they need
  • Hultzen still looks good and shouldn’t lose any value
  • CJ Cron is underrated
  • Brandon Nimmo is also underrated
  • Best Oufielder is Bubba Starling
  • Best Cather could be CJ Cron but for now is Blake Swihart followed by Austin Hedges
  • The Tigers should make the most of their picks and address their biggest need and they should get a ton of talented position players and some young arms that throw good and have some stuff

Jose Bautista a Good Hitter, No Fluke

April 26, 2011

Jose Bautista is a decent hitter and is defiantly not a fluke.  He will hit 40 to 45 homers and has a great shot to easily win back to back home run crowns, though he will have a few less homers and more competition.  The big thing is his leg kick.  It will lead him to success for the rest of his career and I think it may get him a higher batting average, more extra base hits and be a pretty good hitter.  Ever since he made that change to his swing he has done very good and there is no reason to believe anything different.  I think a little bit of power for average is very likely though.  Bautista won’t be the best hitter in the AL because that will stick with Miguel Cabrera, but he will be up there and he will be doing very good a big chunk of the time.  He will have tons of success in the Rogers Centre and will be a tough hitter always and he will be a legit superstar.  Bautista has a few good years ahead but this may be the best of all.

Tigers Draft Needs

June 8, 2009

Here is what the Tigers need this draft…

DESCRIPTION OF PLAYER NEEDED:  The Tigers need a nice hitter or a power arm.  The Tigers could go after a smooth fielder too, since that’s what they are focusing on now, which is a good thing.  The Tigers should also go after some nice left handed pitchers since Jon Kibler is the only big one in the Tigers system.  A good game calling catcher who has a bit of pop in his bat wouldn’t be bad either.  The Tigers need to go after good players who have a track record this draft.

PLAYER WISH LIST FOR PICK 9:
SP RHP Jacob Turner
SP RHP Kyle Gibson (hurt so stock will fall)
SP RHP Zach Wheeler
SP LHP Matt Purke
SS Grant Green
C Wil Myers

STATS AND POSITIONS NEEDED:
Positions: C, 2B, 3B, OF, SP, RP
Stats: Hitting- OBP, AVG, RBI Pitching- ERA, WHIP, K
WANT: Productive hitters or a hit maker and a power arm with a couple good pitches

Is Strasburg the real deal?

June 5, 2009

Is Stephen Strasburg really good.  I think he is, he will be a good starter and might even be a great reliever.  He has a great mound presence and is a strike out pitcher.  He is an ace and will be one of the top five best starters in the league in a few years.  He has lots of pitches and should mix them.  He will have great stats and big fantasy value.  Even late he throws hard, hitters will have a hard time hitting him and he should have many productive starts.  Strasburg will throw his fastball in a pitcher’s count likely, if not he has a nice slider.  His best comparable is Roger Clemens probably, but he could be better.  He will be one of the best pitchers ever before his career is done.  His stuff is awesome.

Tigers Draft Prediction

March 26, 2009

The Tigers have the ninth pick in the draft this year here’s what I think they will do.  There is a lot of talent in the middle of the draft but out of all the names, Kyle Gibson sticks out.  Gibson can easily turn into an ace or a number two guy.  He has three possible plus pitches and has a great mound presence.  He fits this team as he could pitch third behind Verlander and Porcello, it could be an amazing threesome.  Gibson has great control and command.  The only flaw is that he needs to mature as a pitcher but I could see him doing that.  Gibson will go in the top ten of the draft and the team that takes him will get results.
